Hey everyone out there! Tonight, we’re diving into The Prophet and the Idiot , a recent novel by the internationally acclaimed Swedish author Jonas Jonasson. You probably know him from The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared —that novel became a worldwide sensation, translated into over forty languages and even made into a film. Jonasson has a very particular style of storytelling—witty, sharp, warm, and deeply human. Before writing fiction, he worked as a journalist and media consultant, and you can really feel that keen, observant eye for people and societies in everything he writes. The Prophet and the Idiot , published in English in 2023, is a fantastic example of that style. The story brings together three very different characters on a rather unusual journey.
